Custom Designed Outrigger Cylinder with added Sensors
Project Goals
Our primary objective is to significantly enhance the performance and reliability of our customers hydraulic cylinder by integrating an advanced pressure sensor system. This aims to improve monitoring and control, enhanced safety, increase efficiency and expend equipment lifespan.
Challenges
The requirement for a sensor to be incorporated into a bespoke cylinder posed challenges when ensuring compatibility with the cylinder as well as the hydraulic fluid used in the system.
Solution
Ramko’s Engineering team worked closely with our customers Engineering department to create drawings outlining potential errors and creative solutions. Including ensuring the sensor materials are chemically compatible with the hydraulic Fluid. Considering sensors with protective coatings or diaphragms that resist corrosion and degradation.
